Kaiyodo Space Factory Nankoku
海洋堂SpaceFactoryなんこく（Kaiyodo SpaceFactory Nankoku)
A museum dedicated to the creation and art of Kaiyodo’s vinyl figurines
Known by collectors for their painstaking attention to detail, the vinyl figures produced by Kaiyodo are all little works of art. Opened in March 2021 and housed in a building that resembles a spaceship, Kaiyodo Space Factory Nankoku is a free museum and factory where you can watch the figurines being created from start to the delicate hand-finishing work.
Visitors can check out exhibits of figures of all sizes, varying from tiny to 4-meters-tall. Be sure to battle Godzilla when admiring the diorama of Nankoku City! If you have been inspired by the artistry, you can even try painting your own figurine or making a small diorama under the expert guidance of one of Kaiyodo’s modelers.
Be sure to also check out two more Kaiyodo showcases in the town of Shimanto: the magical Kaiyodo Kappa Museum (dedicated to the folklore trickster!) and the colorful Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto.
