Kami City Yanase Takashi Memorial Hall Anpanman Museum and Poem & Märchen Gallery

香美市立やなせたかし記念館アンパンマンミュージアム(Kamishiritsu Yanase Takashi Kinenkan Anpanman Museum)
A museum all about a character beloved by generations of Japanese people
Anpanman is a well-known and loved character from children's picture books and TV animation. The Anpanman Museum was built here in Kochi as it's the birthplace of Takashi Yanase, the creator of Anpanman.
The museum is hugely popular among fans, both adults and children alike, and features a large number of Anpanman paintings and original picture books drawn by the author specifically for the museum. The world of Anpanman has been brought to life here with recreations of the town Bread Factory and of the villains lair Baikin Castle-places that are featured in the story.
The museum shop sells original goods that can only be found here, and there is also a Poem and Fairytale Picture Book Gallery close by.
