"Sugi-no-Osugi" Japanese cedar
杉の大スギ(Sugi No Osugi)Feel the energy of one of the largest trees in all of Japan
Renowned as the tallest Japanese cedar tree and listed as a special natural treasure, Sugi-no-Osugi is estimated to be around 3000 years old.
The Japanese cedar is actually two separate trees merged at the root, which is why it is also nicknamed the Wedded Cedar. For this reason, it is also called “Motogi Cedar”.
Some people pray to Sugi-no-Osugi asking for wishes to be granted. In fact, one person visited the tree as a child wishing for better singing skills, and that child grew to become one of Japan's top singers.
