竜串海域公園(Tatsukushi kaiiki koen)
Float over one of Japan’s largest coral reefs!
The Tatsukushi Marine Park, located at the southernmost coast of Kochi Prefecture, is home to one of Japan’s largest coral reefs and you will find all types of colorful fish and shellfish thriving in these waters that remain warm all year round. Tatsukushi was the first park of its kind to be designated a National Marine Park.
A glass-bottom boat cruise is the best way to see the vibrant marine life under the emerald sea. You will also get a rare chance to marvel at the intricate details and textures of mammoth coral reef clusters from just inches above.
The 30 to 50-minute trip on the glass-bottom boat will also take you to the Minokoshi Coast where you will find rock formations that look like they’ve been brought from another planet. Touch rock surfaces that have been carved out by strong winds and waves over thousands of years. It is sure to be a humbling experience that reminds you of the power of nature and beauty of life on Earth.
