The outdoor company Snow Peak has reinvented camping for the 21st century and made it comfortable and accessible for everyone. Tosashimizu Campfield is Snow Peak’s first ocean-view campground located on the southern tip of Kochi within the premises of Tatsukushi Marine Park.
One section of the campground is scattered with chic trailer houses designed in collaboration with renowned architect Kengo Kuma while the rest of the grounds is open for tents to be pitched for a more authentic camping experience. The nearby main structure has modern indoor bathing and bathroom facilities for men and women.
To promote local culture, Snow Peak Tosashimizu Campfield also offers workshops, that require advance reservations, where guests can make their own katsuo no tataki (seared bonito), a local delicacy. The katsuo is quickly seared over an open straw fire for a smokey exterior and tender interior, a flavor that goes seamlessly with the stunning view and gentle sounds of the Pacific.
