Katsurahama Beach

Representative of Kochi Prefecture, Katsurahama Beach is a place of scenic beauty, where the blue sea stretches as far as the eye can see, and the white sandy beach spreads out in a bow, with thick, green pine trees along the coast.
This is a famous spot to view the rising sun, and we recommend sitting on the beach when there are only a few people there, and enjoying the view.
There is a 13.5 meter statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, standing on high ground looking gallantly out into the distance.  If you use a low angle, you can take a photo with Ryoma, so give it a try!
In this area, you will also find the Kochi Prefecture Sakamoto Ryoma Memorial Museum, and the Katsurahama Aquarium, which are open all year round.
Taking the "MY-YU BUS" from Kochi Station is a convenient way to go!
