UFO Line: Kochi's epic mountain road
Have you ever heard of the UFO Line? No, you won't find any aliens here, but it is still legendary!
This dramatic road winds through the Ishizuchi Mountain Range, which boasts some of Kochi's most impressive high-altitude scenery. The road's elevation varies from around 1150m to 1700m, which is 2 times higher than Tokyo Skytree!
Driving or cycling up in the clouds, you will be surrounded by the towering peaks of mountains and soothed by the cool wind. Be sure to stop at some of the rest stops along the 27km road to take in the view!
Inspired, but don't want to bring your bicycle with you? There are several places where cycling enthusiasts can rent bikes to take on the mountain course!
The road is a 2-hour drive from Kochi City
The UFO Line is closed from the end of October to the beginning of April.
