Held every week, the Sunday Market is a popular tourist attraction with historical value. There are around 400 shops spread out over a kilometer!
We also recommend heading to the Sunday Market for breakfast if you happen to be in Kochi on Sunday.
They have an abundance of offerings including veggie dishes made from fresh locally-grown produce. For example, "inaka-sushi" (all the beauty of traditional sushi, but mountain vegetables instead of seafood!), mochi rice cakes, and meat skewers to please your palate.
Most of the shop clerks made everything themselves.
The Sunday Market, held for over 300 years, opens and closes at different times depending on the season. Typically open from sunrise to sunset, you can come enjoy yourself anytime it's bright!
