Autumn is coming! It's time to taste one of Shimanto special products, Shimanto chestnut!
Shimanto River is not only famous in Kochi for its crystal-clear waters and its tea, but also for its chestnuts, which are used to make Japanese-style sweets!
If you have the opportunity to visit Kochi in September, we suggest that you try its local Mont Blanc.
Originating from France, this dessert is one of the most popular in Japan. Japanese Mont Blanc is a sponge cake made with layers of fresh and whipped chestnut cream, and chestnut paste sandwiched in between.
There are also other delicious local desserts such as Kochi's chestnut ice cream, and "Kuri Kinton", which has the shape of a chestnut.
If you have already tried Shimanto Mont Blanc, feel free to share your impressions with us!
