Nakatsu Gorge, one of Kochi's stunning natural treasures
Kochi has many superb natural spots, but Nakatsu Gorge is definitely one of the most gorgeous ones.
It was formed over 300 million years ago as a result of tectonic shift.
It runs along the Niyodo River and is a part of the prefectural nature park Niyodo Blue.
Since it is a sacred shinto place, if you go there, you will have the great honor to meet the seven lucky statues along the path at the gorge.
You can also enjoy hiking it towards the waterfall Uryu-no-Taki.
To enjoy Nakatsu Gorge's beauty at its best, we would recommend that you visit it in summer.
The combination of the green color of summer leaves and the clear blue color of the river will blow your mind!
