Taste of Kochi: Strawberry Delights from Michi-no-Eki Nakatosa

While michi-no-eki (roadside stations or rest areas) are a great place to stock up on locally grown produce and other goods, Michi-no-eki Nakatosa ups their game by serving locally-grown strawberries in a variety of sweet creations at Kaze Kobo, a spacious and airy café located in the complex. The fruits, which come from a nearby farm, are used in everything from tarts to roll cakes to tasty parfaits. Dine-in or take some desserts to go.

Afterward, don’t miss stopping off in the neighboring shop, where you can purchase numerous Kochi products, from katsuo (skipjack tuna) rice crackers and tuna croquettes to locally-grown ginger, a noted Kochi crop. If you’re feeling bold and still have room in your stomach, the katsuo soft serve is a refreshing treat!
