Aso Chinkabashi

This is one of Kochi’s many beautiful submersible bridges, made without side rails to withstand flooding. If you’re a movie enthusiast, you might even recognize the 121-meter Aso Chinkabashi, since it served as a model for one of the settings in the 2021 animated film “BELLE”, a magical and heartfelt story directed by Mamoru Hosoda.

Yakatabune

Listen to the sounds of nature and watch schools of fish swimming in the crystal-clear waters up close, as you glide along the calm Niyodo River on a traditional Japanese leisure boat called yakatabune.
