Regular followers of our page (thank you!) will know that we are huge fans of Monet’s Garden Marmottan in Kitagawa Village, which is the only garden in the world (besides the original one in France) allowed to bear the name of the world-renowned artist
Although it is absolutely stunning to witness this paradise for art-lovers in the warmer months, according to Yutaka Kawakami–one of the dedicated gardeners there (for over 20 years and counting)–recommends autumn as the best season to visit. The variety of flowers may be less compared to summer or spring, but he says they bloom particularly voluminous and vibrant
Further, he recommends visiting in the morning when the sunlight falls majestically from an angle through the trees. That will also give you plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely lunch at Cafe Monet’s House! A delicious vegan plate is also available
