Whether you have a driver’s license or not, you might prefer not to rent a car while traveling in a foreign country because everything is so unfamiliar. That’s totally understandable, and here in Kochi City, there’s a way to get around it
The colorful MY-YU sightseeing bus leaves from Kochi Station and takes you to the main attractions in the city including Chikurin-ji Temple, the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden, and Katsurahama Beach
At Chikurin-ji Temple, you can wander around the vermillion five-storied pagoda and immerse yourself in the beauty of a Japanese-style garden that dates back to the 14th century. At the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden, you can explore over 3,000 plant species blooming across 8 hectares (equivalent to about 15 American football fields)! After taking a walk around Katsurahama Beach, grab a delicious bite at Katsurahama Bishokukan Jin. I highly recommend the bowl of fluffy rice topped with slices of Tosa Akaushi wagyu beef and creamy raw egg, which combines together perfectly
