Best wishes from Kochi’s eco-friendly seaside shrine

You may have seen world leaders standing in front of the famous red torii gates at Miyajima during the recent G7 Hiroshima Summit 2023. But did you know that Kochi has its very own ocean-facing shrine, sometimes even referred to as the ""Miyajima of Tosa"" (with Tosa being the old name for present-day Kochi Prefecture)?

Located around an hour from Kochi City by car, Otonashi Shrine is not only known for its stunning views of Uranouchi Bay, but also the power to bring good fortune to relationships. If you’re looking for some luck in love and marriage, this spiritual spot might just offer some assistance

You might be wondering though…what makes this shrine eco-friendly? Well, the omikuji (fortune-telling slip) is made with a special paper that dissolves in water so that you can release it in the sea as you make a wish without any pollution. Pretty neat!

While you’re in the area, how about an epic open-air grilling session at the “BBQ Stadium”? At LOGOS PARK SEASIDE KOCHI SUSAKI, you can either bring your own food or opt for the pre-prepared set including delicious seasonal ingredients. You also have some great overnight options including camping spaces with electricity outlets, mini-kitchens and more! Everything you need is available for rent, so all you have to do is show up for a memorable, stress-free outdoor experience
