Cherry blossoms? Nope! This is Kamikuki’s peach flower paradise

Although cherry blossoms might be the most famous symbol of spring in Japan, there are other vibrant flowers that fill us with delight during this new, warm season

The Kamikuki district, located just over an hour drive from Kochi City, is home to several thousand peach flower trees that paint the mountainside a breathtaking red, white and pink. The view we get to enjoy today (between late March and early April) is thanks to the local community that spent over 15 years planting and growing these trees with the hope that it would help revitalize the area by bringing people together

Sure enough, their efforts paid off in the most spectacular way, gifting pure awe and joy to anyone who visits
