The name “uminowa” derives from the idea of building connections; connections between the Tatuskushi sea and people, nature and people, and people with people. Situated on the shores of the
Tatsukushi Marine Park, home to 105 species of coral and 384 species of sea slugs, and extraordinary rock formations extending out into the open sea.
Tatsukushi visitor center is a space for people to gather and learn about the beautiful nature, people and culture of the region. The staff at the center are experts on information about the Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park,
Kochi Prefectural Ashizuri Aquarium,
Ashizuri Underwater Observation Tower, and local glass bottom boat and can always assist with the latest information about regional sightseeing and events in both Japanese an English.
The open hall is a great place to rest, there is a designated children’s play area, nursing room for mothers, and shower facilities for everyone to use.
