This temple has a reputation for its beauty, even among the other pilgrimage temples, When you enter the temple grounds, take time to appreciate the Japanese gardens. The area is beautifully maintained and foreigners tend to love the moss! It's sure to please. Ring the temple bell like you've always wanted to. Go ahead and take a video with sound as you do it. You're supposed to ring it before praying. The atmosphere is perfect as you climb the stone steps toward the vermillion 5-storied pagoda, a rare sight in Shikoku. Try to copy how the others are worshipping and pray to have a good trip! There are lots of great spots for a photo shoot. We recommend heading to the Makino Botanical Gardens too, as it's close to this temple! Come around the end of November to see the picture-perfect fall leaves!
