Originally opened in 1972, the curiously shaped Ashizuri Underwater Aquarium proudly sits along the Tosashimizu coast in the Tatsukushi Marine Park area.

Its retro design could easily be mistaken for a villain’s secret underwater lair. As well as the above-sea observation lookout, visitors can descend 7 meters below sea level to observe all manner of marine life swimming freely through porthole windows.
