Did you know that Kochi's Sunday market is the oldest (more than 300 years old) and the largest Sunday market in Japan? It is next to impossible not to be tempted by this huge vegetable-colored palette, stretching for about 1 km from the Otemon front gate of Kochi Castle.
There are around 400 stalls where local products such as freshly picked vegetables and fruits, flowers, and street food are offered.
Japanese white eggplant (which is a good meat substitute), paprika, and pumpkin are some of the numerous vegetables that can be found there.
If you have the opportunity to visit this big market someday, we recommend that you go there in the morning, as many products sell out quickly!
What kind of cuisine do you usually eat when you’re in the mood for veggies?
