Ever heard of Anpanman, the superhero?
Anpanman is one of the most well-known characters in Japan, and the hero of the eponymous picture book and manga series created by Takashi Yanase.
Did you know that Mr. Yanase was raised in Kochi Prefecture? There is an Anpanman-themed train that runs between Okayama and Kochi Prefecture on the Dosan Line, through where the author grew up!
The train’s bright exterior features many of the Anpanman characters, as you may expect, but it doesn’t stop there! Train car #1 is where fans of the series can truly live out their Anpanman fantasies.
