Shikoku Tosa Toki no Yoakeno Monogatari

Discover Kochi's nature, history and food with JR new sightseeing train

The luxurious train "Shikoku Tosa Toki no Yoakeno Monogatari", which name means “Tale of the Dawn of an Era” in English, has started operating on July 4th through Kochi Prefecture!

The first car of the train, called “Kurofune” (black ship), refers to the Western vessels that Sakamoto Ryoma witnessed in the 19th century. The second car is called “Sorafune” (skyship), and looks like a futuristic spaceship. It symbolizes the time when Ryoma dreamed about the new era arriving in Japan (Meiji era).
