Kochi's Shotengai.

As you walk through the city of Kochi, you will come across some interesting "shotengai", or shopping streets/arcades to spend your time. One example is Uo no Tana, a small street full of history and lined with vendors selling fresh seafood. You can also enjoy a variety of dishes and snacks including croquettes, which are very popular in the Kochi region.

And east of Harimaya Bridge, you will find Harimayabashi shopping arcade, a more modern shopping area with many beautiful, wooden arches. This kind of structure is rarely used now, and it's one reason this shopping arcade has become more well-known.
