Souvenirs of Kochi: Tosa no Sato

Souvenirs of Kochi: Tosa no Sato

If you can’t imagine returning home without bringing a piece of Kochi with you, a stop by the new Tosa no Sato complex – a short drive from Kochi’s main airport – is a must. With its sleek design and soaring wooden interior, the complex wouldn’t feel out of place in Tokyo’s trendier neighborhoods. The products on offer are all grown or made within the prefecture, some coming from just a few miles up the road.

Locals and visitors alike will find plenty to whet their appetites in the grocery section of the complex, where Kochi’s delicious fruits and vegetables are on sale for a fraction of the price seen in larger cities. Breads and meats are on sale in a second building, while the third section sports a collection of food stalls and restaurants, with a shop selling packaged foods and handicrafts from across the prefecture.
