Taste of Kochi: Shimanto Ekimeshi Form

Taste of Kochi: Shimanto Ekimeshi Form

A train station is often the last place one would think to look for a truly delicious sit-down meal, but recently-opened restaurant Form is aiming to change that perception.

The restaurant strives to offer filling lunch sets made with local ingredients to both travelers and residents alike. The daily set lunch is an exceptional value at ¥700, and often features the shop’s mouth-watering hamburg steak or karaage fried chicken. Add in some fresh greens and Form’s homemade potato salad and it’s a meal sure to fill up any hungry diner. The restaurant is also known for its freshwater unagi dishes, using eels that have been caught wild or farm-raised in the prefecture. For non-Japanese readers, English menus are available.

Shimanto Ekimeshi Form can be found tucked away in the corner of Kubokawa Station, which connects the Shimanto Region to Kochi City and destinations beyond.
