Legends of the two islands in retro Kure town

In addition to the delicious food, I highly recommend wandering around the quaint streets and exploring places like Kure Hachimangu, a shrine where fishermen pray for good catch and protection at sea. Another spot not to be missed is Futanajima–two islands that extend into Kure Bay. Legend has it that demons made these islands to protect the fishing village and its people from large, strong waves.
