Bookmark retro Sakawa Town for this spring

Located only about 30 minutes from Kochi Station on the Dosan Line Limited Express train, Sakawa Town is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the beauty of spring. The crystal-clear Kasuga River runs through the heart of the charming old town, collaborating majestically with the rows of soft pink cherry trees. Makino Park located near Sakawa Station is also a must-visit spot with over 17 varieties of cherry trees reaching peak bloom around late March✨

If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious food and treats with extraordinary Japanese-style charm, Udondokoro Warashi is your spot. They specialize in udon (thick white noodles made from wheat flour), but their desserts are not to be missed either! Their menu can change regularly, but just to give you an idea…they served matcha warabi-mochi (bracken starch), chestnut tart, and blueberry no-bake cheesecake during their evening cafe last year, which is typically only open during certain months every year.
