Capturing fleeting moments with @Maigo Mika

“As for my time in Sakawa Town, the one detail that sticks out was how naturally beautiful it was. I visited on a weekday to beat potential crowds, which gave me an excellent photoshoot advantage–I found some of the loveliest spots where the sun dappled through the trees, set up my tripod and my timer, and took several photos of myself, the streets, and the walkways up Makino Park. Sakawa may be known for its sakura (cherry blossom) season, but it was the maple trees that truly captivated me. That stone walkway with the Momiji tunnel up the temple looked like such a classic scene of natural Japan to me. I’ll be back for the autumn season to see the color change!”

Thank you @Maigo Mika for letting us share your magical reflection of exploring Sakawa Town. To me, your photos perfectly capture the sense of quiet and nostalgia that exists there

Located only 30 minutes from Kochi Station by train, Sakawa is a wonderful place to take an introspective and refreshing stroll. Even if you’re not into photography, I recommend holding your camera (even if it’s just your phone), and keeping your eye out for anything that speaks to you. Every corner of this town is full of interesting textures, colors, shapes, and patterns

Sakawa is also particularly beautiful in spring! Learn more: https://visitkochijapan.com/en/see-and-do/10505
