"My remedy for winter blues? Niyodo Blue

Despite being more of a warm-weather person, one of the many things I am excited about every winter is seeing the majestic Niyodo River at its best. Although beautiful throughout the year, the famous “Niyodo Blue” color glows most vibrantly during the colder months between November and March when there are even fewer impurities in the water

At this point, the 2-hour guided tour on a crystal kayak with Niyodogawa Outdoor Center has become my annual tradition. As soon as I start feeling the winter blues looming, I head out to the serene Niyodo River to remind me that indeed…there is always something beautiful and exciting to be found
