Nightlife and yummy gyoza dumplings in Kochi City

Kochi City has much to offer even after sunset, as the party-loving locals rev up for a night out! One of my favorite spots to hang out over drinks is Yatai Yasubee, which has served iconic Kochi-style gyoza dumplings for over 50 years

Yasubee uses dumpling wrappers that are almost half as thin as traditional ones. Filled to the brim with the perfect blend of local veggies and minced pork, the dumplings are placed in a hot cast iron, steamed, and flash-fried. Crispy and umami-rich with a kick of Kochi-grown ginger, this dish is the perfect pair to draft beer or Tosa sake. All dumplings are also wrapped by hand and cooked fresh when ordered, which means you can watch the master chefs do their magic

Besides the delicious food, it’s such an authentic experience to sit under the red tent of Yasubee’s outdoor food stall (yatai) in what looks like a parking lot space. Yasubee humbly began as a food cart with only 5 to 6 seats, and although it has expanded since then, it still offers the same cozy and intimate atmosphere for people to share the fun of the night

????‍♀️Yatai Yasubee is just 8 minutes from Kochi Station by foot

Hirome Market is another iconic spot to enjoy delicious drinks and local cuisine in Kochi City: https://visitkochijapan.com/en/see-and-do/10024
