Who’s looking forward to spring?

Spring is arguably the best season to travel in Japan, with the fresh scent of flowers and sun congratulating you for surviving the cold winter. Not to mention, it is the time to see one of the country’s most iconic symbols, the cherry blossoms

As we have mentioned before, the retro valley town of Sakawa is one of the best places in Kochi to take in the beauty of these glorious flowers that symbolize renewal, as we transition from a season of rest to one of energy and life

Besides being easily accessible from Kochi City (under an hour by train), Sakawa offers many different views of cherry blossoms, including along the crystal clear Kasuga River and at Makino Park (listed as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom-viewing spots). Makino Park is in fact home to 17 varieties of cherry trees with different blooming times, which mean you can always catch some pink across the park’s mountainside between early February and mid-April

Your perfect spring trip to Sakawa awaits
