An information center and 19th-century samurai home!?

Once you arrive at Kochi Station, we highly recommend you first visit Tosa Terrace, located just a minute away. Here, you will find an information center with all the guidance you need to build your perfect Kochi itinerary and kick-start your adventure! From free English brochures and maps to services like paid baggage storage and SIM cards available for purchase, this information center (and its friendly staff) has got you covered!

After locking in your plans, walk over to Ryomaden: Bakumatsu Heroes Pavilion, which is located in the same building and step back in time to 19th-century Japan! Here, you will find the film set that was used in a popular historical TV series called “Ryomaden,” following the life of Kochi-born hero Ryoma Sakamoto, who helped free Japan from feudalism in 1868

Learning about a region’s past can help us understand the culture we see today, and that is one reason that makes visiting a place like Ryomaden so worthwhile

Enjoy the realistic faux gardens, savor a cup of tea in a traditional Japanese home, and try on a kimono for the full time travel experience!
