Get lost in sea of sunflowers

The beginning of July is the season of early blooming sunflowers! At Izuma in Tosa City, there is a field filled with 100,000 tall sunflowers along the Hage River. This summer's blooming season has already ended, but don't worry, as these generous flowers show their sunny faces again in a nearby field in late October to early November!

They were originally planted in 2001 by onion farmer Kunikazu Matsumoto (70) to help the soil stay healthy. Since then, he has been taking care of all the sunflowers in his field from seed to flower????

The field is surrounded by mountains, and it is about a 30 minute drive away from Kochi Station???? The entrance fee is 300 yen/person for adults, and FREE for children under 18???? For an extra 100 yen you can even pick three sunflowers!
