Let's celebrate the beauty of sakura in Sakawa!

As spring is about to show up, it is time to introduce one of the best sakura spots in Kochi: Sakawa Town!

Sakawa is a valley town surrounded by mountains famous for its breweries, sake, and traditional Japanese merchant houses.

Spring can be enjoyed inside the town of course, but the best viewing spot for cherry blossoms is Makino Park, as it was created from cherry blossom seedlings provided by the revered botanist Dr. Tomitaro Makino. 

Unfortunately, the usual cherry blossom festival of the park is canceled this year, but from March 19th to April 11th, you can enjoy the night view of the cherry blossoms under the light of the lanterns hung up in the trees.
