Did you know that Japanese melon is considered as a luxurious fruit? Fortunately, it is possible to taste this sweet and delicate treat for a very reasonable price in Kochi Prefecture. 

In Nishijima Horticultural Park, melons are cultivated with a special method : only one fruit is attached to each tree to guarantee a high quality of the taste and very nutritive effects. 
They are then commonly served with soft ice cream in a specific dessert called “Melon No Shippo”, or "Melon Tail" in English.
