For a taste of Kochi’s tropical bounty, be sure to stop off at Nishijima Engei Danchi. The fruit-filled paradise offers a range of edible options, from tomato curry to the shop’s signature “Melon Ship”, a hollowed-out honeydew with a serving of vanilla soft cream.

From January to May, visitors are also welcome to pick their own strawberries (a fee applies).

The shop’s location, just a short drive from Kochi Airport, makes this an ideal place to start or end a visit to the prefecture.
