Woodwork

A wide variety of woodwork is produced using timber generated as a result of forest thinning, including cedar and cypress trees. Many of these trees have grown in forests that account for more than 80% of Kochi Prefecture’s total land area. They include fancy items and surprisingly unique goods born out of novel ideas, such as bags and coasters processed from cedar, chopping blocks made of cypress, bamboo goods, essential oils and bathing items. Buy these products in memory of your visit to the prefecture as you will long feel the comforting warmth and aroma of the wood.
