ACTLAND, a theme park designed to sharpen one’s sensitivity, opened in May 2015. “ACT” stands for art, culture and technology. There are eight kinds of fee-charging pavilions which showcase such items as Japanese paintings by ukiyoe artist Hirose Kinzo (1812-1876) known as “Ekin,” rare classic cars and precise 1:43 scale model cars. There is also an area in the theme park where visitors can have a hands-on experience of items that show scientific and technological developments and rare playground equipment free of charge.
