Sour citrus fruits

Kochi Prefecture is a treasure house of citrus fruits such as “yuzu” (lemon-like Japanese citrus), “naoshichi,” which is called a “phantom citrus fruit,” and “bushukan” (Japanese citron) that goes very well with fish dishes such as “shinko” (the small type of “mejika” or frigate tuna). Kochi is the biggest yuzu producer in Japan. Excellent-quality citrus fruits are raised and harvested in Kochi’s climate that has a wide temperature variation. They have been exported mainly to Europe as their quality has been recognized internationally.
