In Kochi Prefecture, parties are called “okyaku” (guests). The “Okyaku of Tosa” is a hospitality festival held in early March dedicated to Kochi’s food culture. There are more than 40 versions of the event, ranging from Japan’s biggest “okyakyu” party in a shopping arcade to parties highlighting local cuisine and speeches by celebrities with ties to Kochi to parties on trains or inside streetcars.
